The Elissa
Messori Jacobsen Scholarship Fund was established by Dr. and Mrs.
Divo Messori to celebrate the life of their daughter Lisa. A nurse,
Lisa died in 2001 after a battle with breast cancer. This donor-directed
fund benefits Chestnut Hill Health System (CHHS) nurses with their
continuing nursing education—The Elissa Messori Jacobsen
Nursing Scholarship Fund. Full-time, part-time, pool nurses and
nursing staff, with a minimum of two years of nursing experience
at CHHS are eligible to apply for a scholarship grant. Applicants
must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program before applying.
Eligibility
• Applicants must be engaged in nursing at CHHS for a minimum
of two years.*
• Full-time, part-time, pool nurses and nursing staff are
eligible.
• Applicants must be enrolled in nursing studies, including
but not limited to diploma, associate, undergraduate or graduate
programs.
• The Fund does not provide for pre-requisite nursing program
courses.
• Previous award recipients are eligible to apply.
• There is one application cycle annually—the application
deadline for 2011 is Wednesday, September 14. Click

December.
The Foundation
is now accepting applications for 2011 scholarship grants. The
deadline for receipt of applications is Wednesday, September 14,
2011. Awards will be made in December. As advanced nursing
education and experience benefits CHHS and the patients served
by the health system, the Foundation would appreciate your
partnership in spreading the word about this scholarship opportunity.
